Kingdom Book Coaching & Editing Services

Hire Amy Miller Book Editing Services to edit your book and get it ready for publication

Has the Lord given you a story to tell, but you’re not sure what to do next?

Writing can seem like a solitary pursuit.

But bringing a book into the world requires a team. Just like the body of Christ, each member brings their own unique talents as they work together on a common goal.

Maybe you have a manuscripts but you know it needs work. Or perhaps you’re stuck and don’t know how to move forward.

I can help! I offer book coaching and editing services to help you finish your book and polish it until it’s ready for publication. And when you choose a fellow Kingdom Writer to join your team, you can trust that our values and motives are aligned. I’ll look at your story through a Kingdom lens, not a worldly one. I’ll also be praying for you, your project, and your future audience.

Who Am I?

Hi, I’m Amy. I’ve been reading and writing about fantastical worlds since I was a kid, and grew up in a Christian home in rural Pennsylvania.

While getting my BA in English literature from Amherst College, I wrestled with whether my desire to write was what I was created for, or a selfish worldly temptation. After lots of prayer, God confirmed that writing was my calling and my purpose.

After several years working for the American Cancer Society and several more in the for-profit sector, God encouraged me to leave my job for six months to finally finish the novel I’d been working on for roughly 15 years.

After that “sabbatical” I was led to create my own freelance writing and editing business. During that time, I was invited to join my local PA chapter of KWA. In 2025, I became the Vision Lead.

Why Choose Me As Your Book Coach or Editor?

If you choose me, I’ll be your cheerleader, prayer warrior, and accountability partner. As a writer myself, I’ve been where you are. I understand the joys and frustrations of nursing an untold story. Of trying to fit writing into your busy schedule. Of worrying how your book will be received. Of feeling sick in your stomach the first time you ask for feedback.

I believe I’ve been given the gift of encouragement, and if we work together I will use that gift to guide and support you through the writing and editing process. I love praying for my clients, and hearing afterwards how their books have touched readers.

As for my editing credentials, I’ve revised my own manuscripts extensively. For the past six years I’ve been part of a critique group that gives and receives kind, supportive, and constructive feedback every month. I’ve attended writing conferences and taken writing courses, and am an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. I’m currently co-writing Team Struggle Run: How to Fall In Love With Running (Even When It’s Hard) which will be published by Macmillan in May 2027, so I’ve worked with professional editors and am familiar with the business of traditional publishing.

I also read extensively and love talking about what makes a book stick with you long after you close the cover.

Services Offered

I offer a wide range of coaching and editing services, and can tailor packages to meet your needs and your budget.

While I’m open to any Kingdom project, I have a heart for children’s literature and fantasy written for any age group. I also love non-fiction projects that uplift readers by giving the glory to God. I’m open to secular projects that don’t contain explicit content.

Coaching

Whether you need a single brainstorming session or ongoing guidance and accountability, I can help you move forward with your project.

My typical coaching services include:

  • 1 Hour Coaching Session
  • Half Day (3 Hour) Workshop
  • 6 Month Coaching Package
  • Monthly Retainer

Editing

A good editor (or two!) is critical before self-publishing. Even the most excellent writer needs someone to point out their blind spots. If you’re hoping to seek a traditional publishing deal, a editor may be a worthwhile investment to polish your manuscript before you try to sell it.

I offer the following editing services:

  • Developmental Editing – The first edit tackles big picture stuff like strengths and weakness in plot, character, structure, and voice. My developmental edits include an optional one hour video call so you can ask questions about my feedback or discuss ideas.
  • Line Editing – Once all the big picture pieces are in place, the second edit focuses on tightening and polishing the writing. I’ll point out passive voice and overused words and correct grammar and punctuation.
  • Proofreading – Proofreading is a final stage before a book is ready for publication, to catch and correct minor errors. Before we start working together, I’ll request a short sample so I can recommend whether you’re ready for the proofreading stage or could benefit from line editing.
  • Combination Packages – I’m happy to assist with several drafts of the story, although I strongly suggest asking someone else to do the final proofread.

Developmental Editing should be done before Line Editing or Proofreading, because most books need some major revisions before they’re ready for the next step.
