It’s the quintessential question for anyone who’s ever participated in the internet’s favorite speed noveling challenge. November is over. I wrote a book! Now what do I do?
I’ve been there. I completed my first manuscript in November 2004 and have taken on the challenge almost every year since (feel free to check out my stats). For the past twenty years, I’ve found November to be a exhilarating and exhausting whirlwind of creativity and perseverance. I truly believe there’s a gem in every tale written during this challenge.
But the reality is, sometimes that gem is buried pretty deep. That’s the point after all. Just keep writing! Those 50,000 words don’t have to be “good.” They just need to be written.
Even if you think they’re good, revision is essential after any first draft. But the revision process can be overwhelming, especially for new writers who may not have a trusty group of beta readers to help them find their way. Where do you even start?
There’s plenty of advice online, of course. So much advice it’s almost counterproductive. And none of it is tailored to YOUR manuscript.
Except My Custom Revision Plan
Imagine a kind and encouraging book coach offering personalized feedback describing what she loved about your manuscript and suggesting areas to develop and improve. You’ll even have a chance to discuss your book over a video call.
As a long-time veteran of November noveling challenges, I know the state your manuscript is in right now. I know it’s precious to you, and it’s scary to let someone else read your story, and even scarier to ask what they think. I promise to be gentle and ignore the rough edges as I help you come up with a plan to tackle the revision process.
You’ll Receive:
- 2-3 pages of customized feedback on your manuscript, with a focus on what excited me and areas to develop
- Suggestions on how to tackle the revision process
- Optional half an hour video call to discuss feedback and answer your questions
- An email check in one month later to see how your edits are going
- An understanding coach cheering you on from afar as you continue to follow your dreams
What You Won’t Receive (The Fine Print)
- A comprehensive developmental edit – Chances are, your manuscript isn’t ready for that. But I’d love to chat once you reach that stage.
- Incomprehensible AI advice – Your feedback will come from a real person who doesn’t use AI.
- Please note that this offer is not affiliated with National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in any way. I’m a fan and a participant, but am not and have never been an employee of the organization.

Frequently Asked Questions
Must my manuscript have been written during a November writing challenge?
Not necessarily. If you have a rough manuscript and you’re looking for advice on how to start the revision process, I’d love to help. But this promotion has been designed for 50k manuscripts written in approximately 30 days. Additional costs will apply for manuscripts over 54,999 words. If you’ve been working on your book for a long time, there’s a chance a different type of feedback may be more helpful. Let’s chat about it!
What if my book is longer than 50,000 words?
First off, I’m impressed! Secondly, I’d love to take a look. However, because it will take me longer to read and compile my feedback, the $429 price covers the first 54,999 words. There is a additional $38 charge every time you pass another 5,000 words (for example 55,000-59,999 words costs $467, 60,000-64,999 costs $505 and so on).
How long will it take to receive my revision plan?
Because I’m limiting this promo to the first 10 interested writers, I’ll have your revision plan to you within 30 days of receiving your manuscript. Take this time to rest, recover, and celebrate your accomplishment. You wrote a book!
What if I didn’t finish by November 30th?
That’s fine with me! I’m happy to look at however many words you’ve completed, and I’m not a stickler for deadlines. The important part is you’ve taken on this challenge, and I’m proud of you!
What types of manuscripts will you read?
I’m willing to offer feedback on any fiction or nonfiction manuscript. For fun, I read YA and adult books across most genres, though I have a particular soft spot for YA sci-fi and fantasy.
When is payment due?
$150 is due to reserve your spot. I will send you an invoice after I receive your application. The balance will be due once I’ve finished reading your manuscript and am ready to send you your feedback and revision plan.
